Wire Fraud in Real Estate

Wire fraud is on the rise and real estate is a big target. Cyber criminals will identify pending real estate transactions and start to build a portfolio to mimic any and all parties involved. They will go as far as make copy websites of legitimate businesses to try and get you to wire money to them.

As a real estate professional I have an obligation to protect my clients and every party involved in the transaction. If you think something is fishy talk to your agent and get the correct phone number to the company you are trying to reach. Personally, I would go a step further and go to the office and do everything in person.
